AboutThe Dunavon Hungarian Folk Dance Ensemble was formed in 2019 in Bristol with the help of Andrea Szabó, a participant of the Kőrösi Csoma Sándor programme supporting Hungarian communities worldwide.
The group launched with great enthusiasm, although progress was slowed by the Covid pandemic when rehearsals were put on hold. Once it was possible to start anew, the members learnt Szatmári, Széki and Moldavian dances with Ádám Radics and Diána Szeidler-Lednitzky. The repertoire now also includes Szilágysági and Kazári dances. With multiple successful performances, the group is constantly growing, and regularly organises the folk dance house (táncház) in Bristol which is greatly enjoyed by all participants.
